History: Dr. James Harvey was a practicing psychiatrist until his wife died. Her death was a tragic loss for him, but it also left him with the task of raising his daughter Kat. Unable to cope with his wife’s death, he developed an interest in the afterlife and started studying it until it overwhelmed him. He traveled the country trying to get in touch with Amelia through psychics, mediums and reputed haunted houses as he dragged his daughter around with him. In 1995, they finally ended up in Friendship, Maine to explore another strange old house known as Whipstaff. The owner died however without paying a cent of the money she had promised him and Dr. Harvey acquired the house legally afterward from which he bases his parapsychology institute.

Comments: Dr. Harvey presides in the Old McFadden Mansion known as Whipstaff  .
