Wallpaper Photos for June 2011

I snapped this image of a small wave breaking on rocks near the Rod & Reel pier on Anna Maria Island, a barrier island off the west coast of Florida, near where I live. The bright sunlight allowed the needed shutter speed to stop the motion, and lots of takes finally caught a wave at exactly the right moment.

In my area as well as many others up and down the coast, the water quality has improved a great deal over my lifetime thanks to advanced wastewater treatment and constant vigilance by the community.
