This view of Egmont key was taken from the end of the Rod & Reel pier on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Egmont lies at the mouth to Tampa Bay and houses a small colony of harbor pilots who meet incoming ships and guide them into the various ports. The lighthouse is run by the Coast Guard. Formerly manned by two-man crews, it was fully automated in the 1980s.
