Welcome

A TRILLION DOLLARS ?
As I considered the trillion + dollars congress is going to BORROW and spend on our behalf, I struggled with some method to represent the sheer staggering nature of the event. Finally, I got the idea to use the smallest display dot to represent a dollar.
800 pixels gathered in a row can form a single line of a photograph.
If we collect 1250 of those lines together, we'll have a photograph with a million tiny pixels.

So, with this photograph we represent a million dollars. Now imagine each of those million pixels expanding out until it was a complete picture exactly like the original. That would be a million pictures each containing a million pixels!

So, a million times a million, that's a trillion! At normal display scale, the resulting image, with a trillion dots, would fill 24 football fields! Just walking around it once, you'd cover nearly a mile!!!!

There is no other country on earth like the United States of America. There are reasons why we have the world's largest economy and the living standards we do. We call those reasons "Freedom" and "Liberty," but what stands behind them is the genius of our founders and their distrust of government.
They knew that power tends to accumulate and that, once aquired, is almost impossible to dissipate. They provided for strong state governments because they intended power to reside as close to the people as possible.

There are not many things that can bring down an incredible country like ours... it would take something HUGE... something like borrowing a trillion dollars and dispensing it from central hands of power! We are already over a trillion dollars in debt! Borrowing an additional trillion is only compounding the problem and... I am much afraid will...
push us past the tipping point!
I know things are hard right now and likely to be hard for some time to come. Undoubtedly some economic stimulus is needed to get banks to make the loans to grow jobs. But expanding the scope and scale of government is NOT going to accomplish this and will end up changing the very essence of our lives and strapping future Americans with crippling debt, a worthless dollar, and drastically increased government control!

Here is the recent Newsweek cover that prompted this page:

I can't speak for everyone, but that certainly doesn't sound like a country where I wish to live. It's hard to believe we could stray so far from the principles that made us great!
