HERE'S WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR:

HARDWARE: We've upgraded our server with additional memory and disk storage capacity to handle the additional load. We've also installed a mirrored RAID to provide automatic backup of all user data files. OPERATING SYSTEM: We've added security extensions for user validation and changed file systems to NTFS for improved performance and file authentication. NET BACKBONE: We've increased our connection bandwidth which should provide a noticeable increase in speed. We've also added additional mailboxes specifically for use by the group. SOFTWARE: We've purchased a new bulletin board/email group package and have verified the certificate for support. We've got the board installed and are working out the kinks. We've installed a photo upload and viewing program but are having some difficulty integrating it with the group components. We'll get this fixed soon. We're evaluating file upload packages with an eye to functionality and ease of use. So far we're unsatisfied with the offerings but will continue looking. 04-09-07: The domain pointing for Sunny's and Hope's Dark Shadows Showcase site is now in place. The new address is http://showcase.codelphia.net/. 04-04-07: The phone company has finally completed installation of fiber optic cabling. We are in contact with them now to get connected. 03-12-07: Integrating the various components is still a major problem. We are making some progress but it's like pulling teeth. 02-14-07: Doubled the size of the RAID storage on the Codelphia server, to ensure that we have enough storage space for the group's needs. 12-25-06: Completed Immortal Christmas card and sent to members. 10-01-06: Our local phone company has begun replacing its wiring with fiber optic cables in our area. When completed, it will give us a major increase in internet and website speeds. 09-03-06: Started building a new, faster computer to replace our capture computer. This will make production of the episode narratives much easier. Plans are to convert our current capture computer into a backup server. 08-22-06: Upgraded Codelphia's networking with a new Gigabit router and network hub. This will increase internal data speeds and should help with our website speeds as well. 07-15-06: Completed design work on the logo for our new name. 06-19-06: We found it! We have the new name for our Steadfast group! We are working now to register the domain name and are beginning to design the logo. 05-15-06: Still working on a new name for the group. There are so many good possibilities that it is going to take a while to find the right one. 04-26-06: We've begun searching for a new name for our group, as someone else has started a Steadfast Dark Shadows group on Yahoo! 02-12-06: Archiving of Devoted to Dark Shadows posts completed. 01-04-06: Sunny Hope and Diane will be working to save all of the posts from the Devoted to Dark Shadows group. These will become part of the new Steadfast's archives. January: Here at Codelphia we will be adding floor space to our offices and installing new server and networking equipment. This is expected to last until sometime in February when we will resume work on the Codelphia site and the Steadfast group. 01-03-06: Completed Steadfast Card and sent to members. 12-30-05: Working on audio for 2006 Steadfast New Year's card. 12-26-05: Compiling Episode photos for all Dark Shadows episode narrated and posted last year on Steadfast group (218-379). 12-15-05: Taking time off to prepare for Christmas. 12-08-05: Still can't get site monitor working correctly. Live report feature lacking or dysfunctional. 11-26-5: Purchased alternate site monitor package for Codelphia. Installing and validating. 11-21-05: Site monitor package failed, searching for alternate... 11-18-05: Working on tourist visit feature based on Google local search graphics... eh... decided against using on Codelphia home page. 11-11-05: Working on Codelphia Home Page. Setting up news feeds and other features. 11-07-05: Installing live site tracking software to thwart DOS (Denial Of Service) attacks on Codelphia site. 11-02-05: Sunny and Hope working on processing saved posts from their Devoted to Dark Shadows group. 10-22-05: Working on Codelphia site to support Steadfast group. 10-13-05: Working on new Codelphia logo and mission. 10-04-05: Final tests on authentication... Beginning to set up members data fields. 10-01-05: Finally found a Server authentication package that works with our native database management. 09-11-05: Working on Server authentication and user name / password management for group member accounts to be assigned. 09-10-05: Found and purchased a file upload / management package which will be integrated into the message board and photo management. 09-08-05: Discussed email groups with service provider and purchased extra email service "List-Server" which can handle the task of receiving and sending mail from and to large groups of people. 09-07-05: Written software to analyze and prepare Steadfast Dark Shadows group archive posts to be included in new group.
